TypeBlast Guide — How to Play and Win

Welcome to TypeBlast, the free infinite typing game where words fall from the sky and your keyboard is your weapon. This guide covers every mode, every powerup, and the strategies you need to dominate the global leaderboard.

Game Modes Overview

Word Mode

Individual words fall from the top of the screen. Type each word exactly as it appears to blast it. This is the fastest mode for building raw typing speed. Choose from three difficulty settings:

Sentence Mode

Full sentences with punctuation and spacing. This mode tests real-world typing skills — including capitalization, punctuation, and multiple words in sequence. Matching is case- and punctuation-insensitive, so focus on getting the words right. Scores are 4x higher than Word Mode to reflect the challenge.

Story Mode

A campaign of 12 levels with unique objectives: destroy a target number of words, survive for a set time, or complete precision challenges. Each level has unique word pools and difficulty settings. Beat levels to unlock the next stage.

Daily Challenge

Every day, a fresh seeded word list is generated from the current date. Everyone gets the exact same words. You have 2 minutes to score as high as possible. Play daily to build your streak and compete for the daily high score.

Pro Tips for High Scores

  1. Prioritize accuracy over speed. A missed word resets your combo to zero. The combo multiplier is where the big points come from.
  2. Go for Dare words. They give 3x points. Even if they're longer, the risk is usually worth it.
  3. Use the Enter key strategically. If you start typing the wrong word, press Enter to clear your input instantly and start fresh.
  4. Chain words together. Chain words give 1.5x points and keep appearing as long as your streak holds. Build on them.
  5. Save shields for the endgame. At 25x and 50x combo, you earn shields. Use them to push through the hardest moments without resetting your combo.
  6. Play Daily Challenges. The seeded word list means fair competition — everyone faces the same challenge. Plus, streaks earn you bragging rights.

How the Leaderboard Works

Scores are submitted to a global leaderboard for Word and Sentence modes. Only Hard difficulty (Word mode) and Sentence mode scores are submitted to the leaderboard to ensure fair comparison. You'll be prompted to enter a name when submitting a high score.
